Harp Mastery® Virtual Youth Mini-Camp

Ensemble Recording Instructions
- You will need two devices, one to record your video and one to play the audio track through headphones or earbuds as you play.
- Download the audio track below for the part you are going to play to your cell phone or other device. This track is a recording of the part with an added “metronome track.” This will help keep us together.
- Practice your part, both on your own and playing along with my recording. Please tune your harp to A440 and tune carefully!
- When you are ready, shoot your video iusing landscape mode.
- Listen to the audio track as you play. You must use earbuds or headphones because you don’t want any of my sound to be picked up on your recording.
- Save your video. Saving it to Google Drive or Dropbox is best.
- Email me the link to your video: [email protected]
Helpful hints:
- Make sure your recording device is set up in a stable position to avoid a wobbly picture.
- You can use the built-in microphone, but plugging in an external microphone might help you produce a better sound.
- Do a simple sound check: Record yourself playing for a few seconds and listen back. Be sure you play your highest/lowest notes in the piece, as well as your loudest and softest dynamic levels. If your device isn't picking up some of your sound - move it closer. If your device is distorting the sound - either move it farther away, or do not play as loudly.
- Remember to check your lighting and the camera angle. We want to see you play, so be sure that you aren’t sitting in the dark or in front of a light source (like a window) where you would be backlit.
The deadline to submit your video to have it included in our Virtual Ensemble is Saturday, June 26. I will email you the finished video as soon as it is ready!
