That’s what the Harp Mastery Getaway Retreat is all about. I will be hosting a small group of harpists who want to do exactly that – focus on their harp playing for a few days in the perfect environment.
This is the ideal opportunity to not only escape with your harp to soak up some sunshine, but also to pep up your mood and your harp playing when they likely need it most.
What makes a Harp Mastery Retreat unique?
I believe there are two things that make our retreats so special - and bring back many repeat retreaters year after year.
One is the environment. This isn't just about learning the harp. This is about being with other people who love learning the harp, playing the harp and talking about the harp just as much as you do. It's a pretty heady atmosphere.
The other is the people. While every group of retreaters is different, I can say with confidence that all of us - students and coaches alike - come away from the retreat with new enduring harp friendships. Our retreaters are special people.
Meet Your Instructor
"Anne began her concert career at age twelve when she appeared twice as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. She is known nationally as a recitalist and chamber musician, performing regularly with SPARX flute and harp duo, Duo Parisienne violin and harp duo, and Trio Montage. Anne was a member of the music theory faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music from 1982-2002, where she taught harmony, counterpoint, ear training and keyboard harmony."

REGISTRATION AND LOCATION
Registration is very limited and is first-come, first-served.
The total cost of this retreat is $2,250. The fee includes all the program activities and materials as well as all meals and lodging. We will be staying in a very large house in a resort community in central Florida. The house has its own pool and hot tub. All the bedrooms have private baths.
The closest airport is Orlando International (MCO) which is a 40 minute drive or so from the house. Flights to Orlando are usually quite reasonably priced.

Frequently Asked Questions
We have a few rental harps - both pedal and lever - that are available to rent for the duration of the retreat. The harp rental fee is $250 -$275. You can reserve your harp at the same time you register.
Generally, the participants are at all different levels, which works really well as everyone can learn together and contribute in different ways. In the past we have had some very experienced players and some relative beginners, and that is typical for our retreats.
The mornings include some gentle stretching and eurythmics-style activities, followed by warm-ups and technique work at the harp and the masterclass. The afternoons are geared to individual work and coaching, with some ensemble playing and other fun activities added to the mix.
We will help arrange for ground transportation upon your arrival and departure - you won't be on your own in making the arrangements!
We typically do an airport pickup run around noon or 1 PM and one later in the day, if needed. The airport drop off run at the end of the retreat is normally fairly early in the morning.
If you'd like to bring a guest who is also a harpist to share your room, you will both receive $250 off your individual retreat fees. (Please Note: If you're taking advantage of the Early Bird Discount, the discount will be split and applied evenly between the two attendees' fees - $150 off each.)
If you'd like to bring a guest to share your room who is not a harpist you're welcome to! There will be an additional $500 fee for that guest's food, lodging and activities during their stay.
Just be sure to select the correct room type (one bed vs. two beds) to accommodate you and your guest when you reserve.
Whatever you're comfortable in! Casual, comfortable clothing will work just great. Just make sure you pack a swimsuit if you'd like to swim!
No, you don't need to prepare anything/any music for the retreat. This is all about working on what you individually want to work on.
If you need to cancel:
Refunds will be at the sole discretion of Harp Mastery®. Because of the limited number of spots available for this retreat, your reservation may prevent another harpist from attending, so we cannot guarantee a refund.
Deposits are non-refundable within 60 days of the retreat start date.
However, registrations are transferable so you may transfer your registration to another harpist should you be unable to attend.
If we must cancel the retreat:
If weather or health conditions would put the health and safety of our retreaters and coaches at risk, we will cancel the retreat. In that event, we will issue a full refund. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse you for any travel arrangements you have made so we strongly recommend travel insurance to cover those.
We will also consider full or partial refunds for anyone who considers it unsafe to travel at the time of the retreat due to COVID concerns, even if the retreat is being held.
We are committed to following the state and federally recommended guidelines at the time of the retreat.
