Flying Fingers: Fly Without Fear
In this class you will learn about the 3 F's that can keep you grounded, when you want your fingers to fly!
- Flaws and fumbles: Mistakes are part of the speeding up process. Speeding up means the coordination of fingers, eyes, ears and brain will have to work a little differently, and that's going to mean you have to prepare for some messiness.
- Finger failure: Beyond regular technique strengthening, sometimes there is a particular finger weakness that needs a little extra work.
- Fear: This is a mindset check. How does playing fast make you feel? What can you do to counter that out-of-control feeling?
Points to consider:
- What is the most uncomfortable thing for you about trying to play faster?
- Are you trying to control everything that your fingers do as you play, even when you start to speed up the tempo?
- What one thing from this video is something you could try in your practice today?
